HOW WE HELP
Julia showed us all how to live each day to the fullest, enjoying every moment. She reminded us that “giving someone a hug” would make you happy. Julia’s Grace Foundation® keeps her amazing spirit alive by helping children with cancer and their families smile.
Julia’s Grace Foundation® offers opportunities for special moments or what we call hugs to children with cancer and their families.
Julia’s Grace Foundation® also grants financial assistance, or grace, to families experiencing financial hardship due to the direct result of a child’s cancer treatment and care.
Our Hug Program
Julia’s Grace Foundation® helps children fighting cancer and their families by providing support to make the days “normal." Remembering that kids need to be kids and everyone needs a hug, the Julia’s Grace Foundation® offers opportunities for special family moments, whether at home, in the hospital, or at public events and venues.
Hugs are simple surprises based on the child in treatment for cancer and his/her family’s likes. Hugs can also be specific requests for an activity or event that a child and family would like to do. These are typically local in nature and do not require extensive travel. Hugs are granted based on availability of funds for distribution at the time of the application.
Our Grace Program
Our grace program is for children under the age of 18 and their immediate family members who are experiencing financial hardship due to the direct result of a child’s cancer treatment and care. If a child is diagnosed with cancer, and is currently in treatment for childhood cancer, a social worker, child life worker, or primary physician can refer the child and family to the program.
Families can apply for grace, which is the request for payment of a specific bill to be paid on their behalf. Families can apply for a maximum $1000 graces per family, per year. Our grace program is focused on supporting families in Pennsylvania , but we do consider applications outside of the area as our budget allows. Graces are granted based on availability of funds for distribution at the time of the application.
